Proceeds from the sale of silky Lama Li paper directly support workers in the papermaking cooperatives of rural and urban Nepal. Lama Li paper is handmade in the mountains of Nepal from the inner bark of the Lokta bush. Lokta is one of the strongest paper fibers. Since new growth regenerates quickly, it provides a renewable resource for the artisans who depend on the fragile ecosystem of Nepal for their livelihoods.Lama Li has a fine sheen, lokta fiber inclusions and four natural deckle edges. Lama Li papers make wonderful gift wrap, book covers, paper sculpture, lampshades and collages.
