Akua Oil is a soy-based water-mixable modifier that rolls out clear. Mixed with Akua Intaglio, its stiff consistency is useful for intaglio plates and roll-ups requiring stiffer ink.

It is also helpful for hand-printing monotype brushwork: Roll a thin coat of Akua Oil onto the monotype plate before painting your image. Akua Oil acts as a release coat when printing without a press.

A layer of Akua Oil printed on top of a finished Akua Intaglio print deepens colors and gives a consistent satin finish.
