PASTEL: Pastels with Pizzaz

Discover the rewards of painting with pastels by introducing photo inspiration to your work. Let Barbara help you take a step-by-step approach to landscape composition from cropping a thumb sketch, using value study, and producing the actual layout. Students will also receive help identifying the color value scale for lending power and punch via the darks and lights, and achieving the “PIZZAZ” of pastel: the brightest bright in sun-stroked shadows, backlit branches, and ripples on water. Open to all levels - drawing foundations are recommended not required.
