Daniel Smith Etching Plates

Industrial Copper Plates: 18 Gauge—An economical alternative to polished photo-engraver's copper. The surface may have minor flaws. It can be polished if you wish, but many artists use the surface as is. The backs of these plates are not acid-resistant and require stopping-out for etching.

Polished Copper Plates: 18 Gauge—This is the same product as our Industrial Copper Plate, but it has been commercially polished on one side for those who prefer a mirror finish. The polished side has been covered with a plastic sheet to protect it during transport. For etching processes, it is necessary to stop-out the back. Plates are sold individually.
