As far as I am concerned, the BEST.

How would you describe the quality of this product?
I've been using Arches watercolor blocks since I was a kid. I've never had a bad result. This handmade paper holds up to repeated scrubbing, making it easier to correct passages, and in my case there have been times I had to do this often, plein air painting... I cannot think of one downside to this product. It gives back far more than it costs...and yes, when I was first learning watercolor technique, it was on-site with elders in my home town. We would go on outings and they taught me to paint from nature... I must have been about 10 years old... I still remember that when they saw me advancing, they bought me my first Arches WC block...and thereafter I would save up for every replacement purchase throughout my career... And now, today, even though I have several Arches blocks in stock, I still go to this section of Daniel Smith and check on the prices... find myself wishing I had some extra cash ...lusting after a few more blocks, even though I KNOW I AM SUBMERGED IN MY OIL PAINT.
How did this product perform compared to your expectations?
I CANNOT THINK OF ONE BAD THING TO SAY ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. I find Arches paper to be suitable for all watercolor technigue and it holds up to repeated washes very, very well...and even scrubbing if brief corrections are necessary. i have never had this paper fail me in any way.
What did you use this paper for?
I've done many "masterpieces" on-site with this paper. what I mean by this, I find the setting, the subject in nature, I set up early in the day and then paint until nightfall. for aseries of barn portraits I worked exclusively with arches...and every new painting made me hungry to use the paper/blocks more and more...even though I had already used this brand 20+ years by the time I am referring to... I have several blocks in backstock right now...ready and waiting for me. Indoors or outdoors.... I have even survived light rain with these blocks...not recommended, but when you are in a rush to finish, you'd be amazed how they serve you.
Was this product true to its value?
What was your overall experience with this product?
I have a gazillion things to do right now, in fact it's 5 am and I just finished a painting session...seeing that there is only ONE review on this Daniel Smith site, I have to leave a full one here, true to my experience, that's how much I believe in arches...and even though I am not able to buy any today, it doesn't matter. I love this product. I wish I owned the factory!
expensive but very good -I also like your watercolor paints
