Quality How would you describe the quality of this product? The quality of this product is fantastic! I was on the market for something for a while, but did not want to spend hundreds of dollars on a Robertson style box. The thing is made with a sturdy construction. The enamel covered steel is absolutely a dream to mix on. Aces. Performance How did this product perform compared to your expectations? I was worried from the pictures that this thing would maybe be to big, or too long for what I was after. I was greatly delighted to see the size of it when I came in the mail. It is rather slim, and fits perfect in the hand. It opens and closes really nice, and the pans it comes with are nice. For those of you who read the palette forums, and are on the fence about this, maybe because it is a little expensive, or you are worried about it being to heavy for travel because it is steel. Collect those worries, and doubts about this product, and throw them away. This thing is magic. Use How did you use this product? As an art student, I am painting everyday on projects and for work to sell, this thing get's used it's fair share, even been dropped a few times. This is the only palette I use in the studio as well as for plein air and it works like a charm. Plenty of mixing space, and four compartments for large washes. Value Was this product true to its value? Yeah it is a little expensive. But would I want some cheapo palette that I just have to replace or am not satisfied with? No. Sometimes you just have to realize you gotta spend some to get some quality products. Overall Experience What was your overall experience with this product? An overall great experience! I would also like to recommend getting the 12 whole pan palette because then you have the option of putting whole and half pans with no problem. Daniel Smith makes great paints, and sells quality gear. Great company, and I will definitely be doing more business with them!

Quality How would you describe the quality of this product? This is a well-built, high-quality palette. It is durable, heavyweight, and will withstand years of use. Performance How did this product perform compared to your expectations? This palette has lots of space for mixing, and generous wells to fill with color. It is nice and compact for travel. It has withstood travelling quite well, and even makes for a nice studio palette, in my opinion. It cleans up pretty well with a little soap and water. Use How did you use this product? I have used this palette on several occasions travelling, and also in my home studio. Value Was this product true to its value? This palette is an excellent value, especially for those who travel or like to paint plein air. Overall Experience What was your overall experience with this product? I have been thoroughly impressed with this palette, and it has even become my favorite one. Not only did I get to fill it with my preferred colors, it has generous mixing areas, as well as a small storage area for a pencil, eraser, sharpener, and a brush. It travels well, it is great for in-studio use, and the removable wells mean one can change out full pans for half pans, rearrange at will, and even change out colors for others altogether. This is truly an excellent palette.
