The Botanical Watercolor IV objective is to learn various advanced watercolor skills that enhance our developed drawing skills. In our previous watercolor exercises we have stayed true to the techniques of building colors through layering. In this class we will learn several methods for applying paint to achieve a three dimensional effect, and new methods that accomplish similar traditional effects while speeding up the process, building confidence, and creating our personal touch.
Please review the list below and purchase what you need. Remember to check your supplies of paper and order more if needed. You will need approximately 24 pieces of hot press paper (approx. 5" x 5") and 24 pieces of cold press paper (approx. 5"x 5"). One sheet each of hot press and cold press paper will yield the necessary total of 48 pieces. This is just for the exercises. You will also need one to three pieces for additional work, studies, and final WCIV painting. If you have completely run out of paper, then purchase the 10-sheet minimum, adding 300-lb paper to your selection so you will have it for your independent project or later work.
