In Botanical Drawing III the objective is to create botanical art and illustrations from fieldwork and research compiled onto research boards. Students will learn how to use macro photography of subjects for key elements and composition studies, conduct research on their subjects, and build research boards from live specimens. A set of colored pencils will easily help you record color in the field. Please note all students will need color swatches of some kind for field study. Pantone Color Guides are a good recommendation. If you can find another solution to this for matching colors in the field, please do so. You will also need TWO Display Boards, TWO Glue Sticks, and a box of full sheet 8 ½” x 11” peel off labels for printing and affixing images and info to boards. Remember when you do field study you may want to bring a field stool with you.
The Academy recommends that you purchase 2 of the Elmers presentation boards.
