With our DANIEL SMITH Watercolor Ground you can paint on almost surface including metal, transforming it into a watercolor paper-like surface that is perfect for painting with your watercolors! You can also tint our Watercolor Ground, providing endless options!

Tinting your Ground, allows you the option of matching your painting foundation to the object you wish to paint - creating an invisible surface! We chose three colors to demonstrate the tinting process in our video, layering several colors onto our base tints:

Tinting your watercolor ground with Aureolin gives a lovely sunlight glow to your watercolor paper when painting sunny landscapes.

Tinting your watercolor ground with Ultramarine Blue (or a blue gray watercolor), will cool down your colors for cloudy landscapes.
