The paper label is pre-cut and can be peeled off as required. Wide range of user groups...artists, illustrators, art teachers, amateurs. Application of one NEOCOLOR pastel will cover up to 17 sheets of A4 paper. The pastel can be sharpened like a pencil.
Neocolor II pastels support a wide range of techniques and support materials:
Rubbing: Colours can be overlaid and blended with a finger, rag or stump to produce soft-textured effects.
Sgraffito: Apply several layers of NEOCOLOR (dark over light), then scrape back the top layer to reveal the underlying colour.
Templates: Apply onto a cut-out, the wax pastel can be distributed with the finger to create patterns which can be repeated as often as desired.
Encaustic: the pastel is heated, then applied with a knife or other suitable tool when molten.
Frottage: Place a sheet of paper over a structured surface like a coin and rub it with the pastel. This brings out the structure of the underlying material.
Watercolouring effects: Achieved with a moist brush directly on the support surface. Sketch out a drawing and using the tip of the pastel as a watercolouring tool - by picking up color from the pastel with the brush. This technique can be used to blend colors and combine pastel with watercolor.
Support Materials: Suitable for use on paper, cardboard, wood, stone, glass, leather, fabric, plastic, terracotta, light panels, etc. Neocolor II is not recommended for use as make-up. Protect the artworks by spraying with a fixative or protect with a varnish containing turpentine or white spirit.
