Paint as Good as You can Imagine. Daniel Smith Ultimate Acrylics are made with the same professional pigment load, innovative colors, lightfastness standards and permanence as our oils and watercolors. These carefully selected colors will energize your palette!

This mixing set contains the following 60ml tubes:

  • Hansa Yellow Medium - A rich and sunny shade. This saturated color warms up mixtures and brings a brilliant burst of color to your painting in masstone. This mid-range yellow is an excellent choice for a primary yellow on a mixing palette.
  • Perinone Orange - A bold, single pigment red-orange. This paint stays true in tints with white—the shade lightens slightly and Perinone Orange retains much of its intensity and warm tone. Choose this stunning shade for playful brush strokes that grab your viewer's attention or for warm, brilliant passages of pure orange color.
  • Organic Vermilion - An intense, fiery red. This brilliant scarlet is our warmest red—it's the bold color of field poppies in the sun. Extremely strong in mixtures and tints, this paint can be used in small amounts with white to create a warm pink tone. Painters who love bright color will welcome this stunning shade to their palettes.
  • Quinacridone Pink - A deep fuchsia shade straight from the tube. Quinacridone pigments are celebrated for their gem-like transparency and radiance in tints. Mixed with white Quinacridone Pink transforms from elegant fuchsia to a playful pink filled with light. Add gloss medium to the pure color to reveal a glowing pink glaze.
  • Quinacridone Magenta - A vibrant color for painters who love pinks that pop! Quinacridone pigments are celebrated for their gem-like transparency and radiance in tints. You'll mix the brightest pink on your palette by adding white to Quinacridone Magenta. Use glazing medium to create a layer of intense cool red to bring depth and saturation to your work. 
  • Carbazole Violet - An intense midnight purple. This strong color has a very high tinting strength—mix just a small amount of this color with white and you will achieve a saturated, regal violet. Its masstone is nearly black making it a useful color for rich shadows and bold color statements.
  • Ultramarine Blue - A brilliant, regal color that is the favored blue of many artists. Modern chemistry produced Ultramarine Blue as a replacement to Lapis Lazuli, the traditional pigment choice for early painters. This modern color is deep in masstone and tints to a clean and rich mid-range blue.
  • Phthalo Blue (GS) - A remarkably saturated acrylic with a high tinting strength. The (GS) stands for “Green Shade” and true to its name this shade of blue is close to turquoise on the color spectrum. In masstone this pigment is nearly black and tints with white reveal both the high intensity and slight green tone of this paint. Use sparingly in mixtures for bold color and thin with medium for transparent glazes.
  • Phthalo Green (BS) - A remarkably saturated acrylic with a high tinting strength. The (BS) stands for “Blue Shade” and true to its name this shade of green is close to turquoise on the color spectrum. In masstone this pigment is nearly black and tints with white reveal both the high intensity and slight blue tone of this paint. Use this color as a base for cooler green mixtures and thin with medium for transparent glazes.
  • Permanent Green Light - A radiant, bright green. If Permanent Green is the color of foliage in summer then Permanent Green Light is the brilliant shade of the first shoots of grass and leaves in spring. This lively color lightens up your palette and brings a cheerful note to your paintings.
  • Mars Black - An iron-based pigment that is slightly less intense than Lamp Black. This useful color has a velvety finish and is a great choice for deep and moody shadows. Mixed with white it creates a mid-valued gray—cooler in tone than an Ivory Black mixture and less intense than a mixture with Lamp Black.
  • Titanium White - Often considered the standard white for painters, it's must have on any palette. Use this strong, opaque white to tint the paints on your palette—adding Titanium white instantly lightens and brightens your colors. Titanium White is the whitest, brightest and most neutral color available. You will be able to achieve a full range of tonal values by mixing with this popular acrylic paint.
