The DANIEL SMITH Limited Edition "Amaryllis" Extra Fine Watercolor Triad
Large blossoms burst into life atop a sturdy stalk, flaunting petals of coral, pink, ivory or red. This showy flower, commonly called the Amaryllis, is a popular addition to many homes during the winter months. Three Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors combine to capture this botanical beautyùQuinacridone Coral, Lemon Yellow and Green Apatite Genuineùin the new Amaryllis Triad.

A dynamic pink, sunny yellow and intriguing green are all that is needed to capture many of your favorite floral subjects. Or be inspired by these singing colors and start an abstract adventure of brilliant color. You'll enjoy colors chosen to inspire creativity during the long winter months.

Amaryllis

Quinacridone Coral, is a watercolor you're sure to adore. This paint's charm is in its range of tone and ease in application. At full strength, Quinacridone Coral is a rich, slightly pink, red. When diluted with water a full range of warm pinks are revealed. Clean, bright and transparentùthis color is ideal for glazing to build color in your floral masterpiece.

Amaryllis

Lemon Yellow, is the perfect pick-me-up for your palette. This light toned and very intense yellow produces sunny highlights and adds life to mixtures. With Quinacridone Coral, a poppy-colored orange is produced. Use Lemon Yellow to brighten Green Apatite Genuine for a textured green-gold.

AmaryllisGreen Apatite Genuine , a PrimaTek pigment, grounds this botanical trio. A naturally occurring mineral, green apatite is often used in jewelry. In watercolor this pigment is mysterious and complex. Bright, jewel-toned green is punctuated by earthy brown granulation and a subtle mineral sheen. Mix with Quinacridone Coral for rich brown tones perfect for painting the onionskin texture of flower bulbs.

Since being introduced to DANIEL SMITH materials in 2001, I have only two pigments left that aren’t DANIEL SMITH Watercolors! All my brushes are either Isabey or DANIEL SMITH 44 Series. The Isabey are for sentimental reasons only and don’t hold a point over time like the DANIEL SMITH.
