DANIEL SMITH Limited Edition Extra Fine Watercolor Triad 'Maple Leaves'

The DANIEL SMITH Limited Edition "Maple Leaves" Extra Fine Watercolor Triad
As late summer turns to fall, a striking gift dapples branches, swirls through the air and collects in wondrous mounds of color. Rainbows of maple leaves flutter on tree-lined streets and create cascading hues on far away hills. Brilliant red, ruddy brown-orange, fiery-gold ochre, glowing yellow and patches of green still clinging to summer produce a show unlike any other. Daniel Smith's new Maple Leaves Triad celebrates these stunning colors with three watercolors perfectly tuned to create an autumn symphony.

Maple Leaves

New Gamboge, New Gamboge is an exceptionally bright and warm yellow. This stunning gold is nearly orange at full strength allowing you to capture a full range of yellow foliage in your autumn landscapes. One of the few fully transparent yellows, New Gamboge is a clear choice for clean mixes and radiant washes. Add just a dab to clean water for a glowing glaze to warm your watercolor painting.

Maple Leaves

Alizarin Crimson, Alizarin Crimson is a rich and deep red. Violet undertones give this watercolor an edge when creating the bright yet cool reds of the fall season. Add a dash of life to a scarlet streaked leaf with this completely transparent, ruby-red jewel of a color. Mixtures with New Gamboge create brilliant rusty-reds and dynamic oranges perfect for the autumn-lover's palette.

Maple LeavesSerpentine GenuineSerpentine Genuine is a wonderfully mysterious green that gives your landscapes life and texture. This PrimaTek« pigment is made from Australian Serpentine, a natural mineral that creates a unique watercolor paint. A deep and mossy green granulates with specks of burnt scarlet, a natural choice to capture the changing season. Mix it with New Gamboge for a brighter green or with Alizarin Crimson for a range of browns worthy to paint branches and trunks.
