DANIEL SMITH Cobalt Drier. This viscous purple liquid reduces drying times by attracting oxygen more quickly to the paint film. Made by cooking cobalt salts in linseed oil, it should be used sparingly (no more than 5%). Cobalt drier is useful when added to glazing mediums containing stand oil, pure gum turpentine and damar varnish. It may alter colors slightly—especially whites.
