Product Description

Iridescent Electric Blue 15ml Tube, DANIEL SMITH Luminescent Watercolor

Our Luminescent watercolors, unlike anything ever seen in watercolor, simulate the glitter of a watery surface or the luster of mother-of-pearl.

They're made from mica pigment, thin transparent particles coated with highly reflective metal oxides. Iridescent colors reflect light and their semi-transparent quality adds a fascinating sense of depth to your work. Iridescent Electric Blue is our most bright, vibrant Luminescent—it is the color of sun striking the blue tones of peacock feathers.

Quality
How would you describe the quality of this product?
The best quality you can buy
Performance
How did this product perform compared to your expectations?
I expected great, and that's what I got
How would you describe the consistency?
Very thick, creamy. It tried to escape from the tube when I opened it, so I took a dab and experimented.
Use
How did you use this color in a painting?
I used it so far in small amounts of ocean to add variation of colors and give pop..also just on its own on an abstract painting with many colors in quilt like design. I have mixed it into other blues and greens for iridescence, but check first because not some mixtures are muddy.
Value
Was this product true to its value?
It's great because you have iridescence to use when mixing and a beautiful different blue shade you probably couldn't mix on your own.
Overall Experience
What was your overall experience with this product?
It's nice to have the color itself plus fun to experiment in mixing. It's one of my favorite add on shades. People want to borrow some when they see me using it.
