Mix gum arabic with watercolors - the pigment will granulate more and shapes can be readily dissolved out of the dried paint. Mixing gum arabic with watercolor produces more granulation of the pigment, reduces the bleeding effects in a watery wash, and increases the solubility of the dried paint film - shapes can be readily dissolved out of the dried paint film. Gum arabic solutions can vary in color due to climate changes before harvesting.
