Dorland's Wax Medium is the highest-quality “cold wax” fine arts medium available. Dorland’s mixes instantly with oil colors, powdered pigments, powdered metals, colored sands, dyes and other compatible materials. When mixed with artist's oils and colors, Dorland's special non-yellowing formula has been proven to actually strengthen the paint film against shrinkage and cracking while sealing out dirt, air and moisture. Dorland’s was created for artists who desire the greatest possible longevity and permanence of their creations. Incredibly versatile, its technical applications are practically unlimited. When added to oil paint, this medium adds brightness and texture. It also makes a satin-finish coat for completely dry paintings. Use 25% wax medium with 75% oil color for brush painting and 50% wax medium with 50% oil color for knife techniques.
