Arches is the product of five centuries of paper making experience. Arches Watercolor Blocks contain fine, mouldmade watercolor paper that is cut and tape bound in convenient blocks. Each block consists of sheets of paper that are pre-stretched, glued together along all four edges, and supported by a rigid backing. The top sheet is easily separated from the block by inserting a knife under the sheet and running it around the edges.
Aquarelle Arches watercolor paper is acid-free, chlorine-free, and made of 100% cotton fibers for extra strength and stability which eliminates the need for stretching. Arches uses no optical brighteners so its natural white color will not yellow with age.
You can rely on Arches to always be consistent; as the paper is tub-sized in natural gelatin and air-dried, it can take scrubbing, scratching, and erasing while keeping the original intensity of the watercolor. This paper is excellent for watercolor, gouache, pen and ink, acrylics, and calligraphy.
Sheets are 140lb (300 gsm) weight, with 20 sheets per block.
